This March, visiting Japanese elementary students and adult teaching staff will be in Brisbane as part of our international education program. We are opening two special cultural exchange days in Sunnybank, Brisbane for local families — particularly the Brisbane homeschool community — to join this Japanese cultural experience. Spots are limited to 15 children per day to maintain a high-quality small group environment. Suggested donation: $20–$40 per child (collected on the day) Pre-registration is required.

A Structured Cultural Exchange in Brisbane

This is not a drop-in activity. This is a carefully designed Japanese cultural exchange program facilitated by experienced educators. For over 15 years, Momenta Kids has delivered programs to more than 5,000 children across Japan and Australia. (Afternoon Session)

We warmly invite local children (homeschooled or otherwise) to join our visiting Japanese primary school group for a special Koala Quest & Cultural Exchange Day.  This is more than just a nature walk — it’s a leadership opportunity.

🌿 Morning Adventure – Koala Quest

Location: Daisy Hill Conservation Park

In the morning, we will explore the eucalyptus forests of Daisy Hill, one of the best places in South-East Queensland to spot wild koalas in their natural habitat.

We are inviting Australian children to join us as nature guides and team leaders.  Many of our Japanese students are still developing confidence in English, so this is a wonderful opportunity for local kids to:

  • Practice clear and thoughtful communication

  • Develop leadership skills

  • Learn how to support non-native English speakers

  • Build cross-cultural friendships

  • Grow in confidence while helping others

Together, children will quietly search for koalas, observe wildlife respectfully, and learn about Australian ecosystems and conservation.

🎎 Afternoon Cultural Exchange

Location: Sunnybank Community Centre

In the afternoon, we’ll gather indoors for interactive cultural exchange activities including:

  • Japanese traditional children’s games

  • Origami workshops

  • Simple language exchange challenges

  • Small group collaboration activities

Local children will continue in leadership roles, helping explain activities, modeling communication, and encouraging inclusion.
